First day of School and Happy Birthdays

Yesterday was the first day back to school, for the surrounding schools.  Our neice Rachael is a Freshman this year, and her sister Averie, she is in 1st grade.  Then they have a brother who is 1 year old.  Talk about spaced out.  I tried to keep in touch with her and my other sister in law (about Karli who started 1st grade also), to see how their emotions were.  Becky (with the 3 spaced out children) seemed emotional, but Danielle (with Karli) seemed ok, her thought was, that it seemed like they never stopped going, but just had a small break.  They all had a great 1st day, except for Owen (1 year old of Becky) who missed playing with his sisters!!

After everyone got out of school, August 25 also was Dale's (father in laws) birthday.  We had bought Dale a banana split from Dairy Queen for him to enjoy whenever he chose to as a gift.  When we got back from Dairy Queen, we asked to take Dale out for dinner, so we met up with the other family (Becky and her family) and took the birthday boy out to Schwertner for some good cookin'.  Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful year at school and in life.

Bunco Fun!!!

Today was a wild and crazy day.  First thing Jacob and I did was open a new bank account at Eagle Bank.  We left the boys with my mother-in-law so we didn't have to have them running around in the bank.  I really didn't want to leave them with her because I knew her main priority was to clean the house for the Bunco party that we was hosting.  We hurried at the bank and came straight home.  To Jacob, he thought the boys were pissing her off, but I think it was just the stress of getting everything done before everyone showed up.  She left shortly after we got home from the bank to run arrands.  So, while Jacob was sleeping  (like he always does) I was tending to the boys and trying to clean up everything so that my mother-in-law wouldn't stress when she got home.  I think it worked also....

At 5pm, me and Hayden went and watched my neice Rachael (she's a freshman this year!) play volleyball.  They won, and she did a great job, I am very proud to be her aunt.  When the game was over I walked out to my car and put Hayden in, then my brother-in-law asked where I wanted to put the tables.  I kind of chuckled because if you have seen my car you would know that it would be difficult and uncomfortable to have tables in there.  Needless to say, poor Hayden was in the back uncomfortable.  But we made it.  Got all the finishing touches until we started.  I have to say that I really enjoyed spending time with my mother-in-law and her "bunco babes".  My sister-in-law subbed with me but she was the lucky one and won money!!!  We think we are going to start a bunco group with family members and I think that would be a lot of fun, and give us women one night a month off from busting our butts and allowing the men to get a taste of good ol' caretaking of the babes.

Good Night and God Bless.

Yes, the last late night and I passed....

This past week has been very hectic for me and my kiddos.  Monday and Tuesday I had late meetings and was away from them, and then tonight I had CPR training (renewal) and I just got home from picking up the boys from my friends house.  I am so glad it's over though.  Now, I can concentrate on this next week getting the boys into "school schedule", as in going to bed early and stuff like that.

I did pass my CPR class though and I just hope I don't have to use it.  I am certified for children and infants only.  Now I am watching the men's volleyball, hopefully win Gold.  Go USA!!!

Can't wait until school starts!!!

I am very excited this year for school to begin.  I will be teaching 4 days this year and also our oldest son will be graduating Pre-K this year.  This will be a big year for us and also a very busy year.  Not only is this a big year for our son, but our neice is a freshman this year so we plan to attend most of her games.  She is very athletic and smart and we are very proud of her.

Anyway, we had 2 teachers meetings back-to-back, which is the same spill that she goes over at the beginning of each school year.  But since it is mandatory we had to  go.  I can't wait to start decorating my classroom.  I have a lot of ideas that I will be applying this year that are new.  For the first day, I am going to make a "Parent Survival Kit" which will include hugs and kisses with a pack of tissues.  I think that will be the perfect little gift from us as teachers.  Since we have to have a tree in our room, I am choosing to do the "Chicka Chicka boom boom" tree from the book.  And as the coconuts I am going to put their pictures on them.  My little saying will be "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, look who's in our classroom!"  I hope that the parents see how we can't wait  to spend a lot of fun time with their children and know that they will be just fine in our care.  I have a lot more ideas that I am going to do, but I don't think I have enough blog space to tell about it.

If you have any cute craft/art project that you wouldl like to share, I would love to see it.  Of course, make sure you know that I am a teacher of 2 year olds and would need something around that age appropriate.

God Bless,
